What It Means To You

ImageThe Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 was signed into law on April 16th. Why was it passed? Primarily, to change how Medicare pays physicians.

How does it affect you? Higher Medicare premiums, if you earn over $133,500 (or twice that for a couple).

The law is not effective until 2018. However, since income in 2016 will determine premiums for 2018, the time to prepare is now.

Figuring out a way to keep your Modified Adjusted Gross Income in check may be the best defense against higher Medicare premiums, and higher taxes in general.
